EP12: Those Pesky Problematic Women

shownotes

Once upon a time someone called me a problematic woman.

They made a podcast about it and everything. Calling me out. Rallying the legions of online women to police me back into not being problematic.

And hereโ€™s the thingโ€ฆ

Do you think it worked?

Do you think I wanted to listen to an online army?

I think you know the answer to that was a resounding no.

Social change is a hot topic for us at the moment. Which is surely a good thing?

I talk in this episode how I worked for many years in the realms of social justice and societal change.

Until... I realised that magic was who I was at my core.

And that the age-old axiom "as within so without" was not a rallying cry to avoid social responsibility.

But a cry to take absolute, total ownership of it.

And so in this podcast I outline:

๐Ÿ’— how policing other women will never be a good thing. Like ever;

๐Ÿ’— how we can call each other into more connection and that that is how things change in the end;

๐Ÿ’— what I do when I see someone "called out" as being "problematic" in my field;

๐Ÿ’— why I don't believe in cancelling someone. I just believe in getting very clean in my own behaviour and holding others in my field to the same standards
